Maisa Shaldan is an artist interested in the visual arts that have psychological dimensions and philosophical meanings, which makes them put many human issues and societal memories under question, research, discussion, and everything that would empower their identity.
Her artwork is characterized by construction, composition, decoding, and installation based on the originality and symbolism in the materials and colors she uses. In her works, she combines the two extremes to explain a middle state between the two or contradictory and harmonious conditions simultaneously.
She has participated in several international exhibitions, including “The Incense Road” at UNESCO in France in 2018, and the “Saudi Art Exhibition” in Paris, Cannes, and London during 2016-2017. Her works have been acquired and displayed across various platforms, including ministries, websites, government public squares, and both recreational and commercial venues. Additionally, she has collaborated with other artists on joint projects. Notably, she directed an audio work based on her piece “Al-Naeem,” which was produced during an artistic residency in Al-Ballad with the Ministry of Culture and Hafez Gallery in 2022.
